Report on SEZs in the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle released
An expert report commissioned by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and authored by project member Prof. Aradhna Aggarwal was recently published and is now publicly available on the ADB website. The report „Special Economic Zones in the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle: Opportunities for Collaboration” describes the legal and institutional framework of General and Special Economic Zones in the three Southeast Asian countries and examines how these zones could become engines of subregional growth through strategic interventions. It identifies the challenges facing economic zones, provides recommendations for policymakers to support active clustering and specialization, and proposes a strategic framework for successful zone development and cooperation in the subregion.
